Why would I want to build a PowerDesigner resources website and blog?

I am Jay Stevens. I worked for Sybase for 9 years, most of that in various roles supporting PowerDesigner. Back when Powersoft bought S-Designor, I was the first engineer to support this new data modeling product.

I was very involved in its evolution from that initial data modeling tool to the Enterprise modeling tool that it is today. For the last 4 years I have been an independent consultant primarily focused on PowerDesigner. Primarily this website and blog are intended as a marketing tool to present my skillset to the PowerDesigner community. Secondly I see a distinct lack of resources to support the PowerDesigner product. Hopefully this website will either address some of that missing information or provide an alternative for obtaining that information.

I have many ideas for content that I would like to publish. You will notice survey like sections on most of the pages. In these I am listing possible topics for that section. Please vote so that I get some sense of how to prioritize things. There will also be the ability to comment on most posts, so please put your ideas there.

As soon as I figure out how to do it, I will add a update notification system or newsletter so I can notify you when things change on the site.

Lastly, a small part of my consulting effort is web development. I am using this as an excuse to explore a new CMS. I am trying out the Joomla open source content management system. Things will be pretty dynamic while I figure out how this works
